How Qualiask handles personal data across the public site, the researcher console, and respondent interviews.

Working draft — a plain-language placeholder, not legal advice. Reviewed wording replaces this before production.

What this covers

This policy covers qualiask.com and every interview collected through it. Interviews run between a respondent and an AI interviewer; the consent screen shown before a specific study states how that study uses your input, and where they differ the consent screen governs.

Who runs it, and where data lives

Qualiask is self-hosted: production runs on the operator's own servers with a self-hosted Supabase stack, not in a shared cloud tenant. Study data lives on that infrastructure.

Data about researchers

Account email and password hash, display name, display preferences (language, theme), and the research content you author — projects, interview handbooks, configurations, analyses. A default project is created on signup.

Data about respondents

Your interview transcript and its anonymized derivative, your consent record, and technical session records. Whether anything identifies you depends on the study: some modes identify, some let you choose per interview, some are always anonymous — and zero-identity studies collect nothing identifying at all.

Anonymization

Before a researcher can read a transcript, a fixed multi-stage panel anonymizes it. Identity details become reversible pseudonyms; dangerous credentials and precise locators are deleted beyond recovery; the substance of what you said is kept. The map that decodes pseudonyms stays on the platform and is never exported.

We never train on your data

Every AI model selectable on the platform passes one bar: no training on submitted data, no retention of it. Your conversations do not become anyone else's model weights.

Withdrawal and deletion

Open your interview's private link at any time and delete everything you said — true erasure, including the readings derived from that session. Reports built from several people survive withdrawal, but they always cover at least two people, so nothing points back to you alone.

Consent is versioned

You see and accept the exact consent version in force when you start. Later edits create new versions for future respondents and never change what you already accepted.

Cookies and local storage

A session cookie for signed-in researchers, a language cookie remembering your choice, and your theme stored in your browser. There is no third-party analytics or advertising tracking on this site.
